I watched women's freestyle mogul yesterday. The competition was excellent. Especially I was moved by the attitude of Kristi Richards' after she was out in the middle of the course. I found her words after the competition in a news site.
'"The Olympic is all about risks. And if you're not willing to go out and take those risks I don't think there's much chance at the gold. It was all or nothing for me," she said.' (CTV News)
What I want for the Olympics or sports in general is to see extreme people trying to achieve their top of top performances for their prides. I want sober analysis and healthy critics on their performances but I don't want unreasonable nationalism or lies to cover popular national athletes' failures. What is worse is to see athletes are disturbed by gossips that are not related to sports at all.
Recently I saw a lot of what I really don't want to see. Why are sports journalists so eager to undermine the best estate of sports, or are there no real journalists at all? They should concentrate just on performances as athletes do and should not stick their nose in gossips or politics. Sports are supposed to be enjoyed by themselves.
